Trip to Queretaro and Puebla July-Aug 2025

 Greetings All,

On this post, we explore a little around the states of Queretaro and Puebla. Click the photos to enlarge!

Tula archaeological site. Created by the pre-Columbian Toltec civilization at their capital city, (in modern-day Hidalgo, Mexico). The Atlantean statues are around 1,000 years old. Carved from basalt blocks, they depict elite Toltec warriors wearing feathered headdresses and butterfly-shaped chest plates. Tula Chico was abandoned between 850 and 900CE.

Enormous statue of Benito Juarez, can you see Jane?

El Cerrito Pyramid: Built around 300 BCE and heavily influenced by the Toltec empire during its peak (900–1200 CE), the site remained a sacred indigenous ceremonial location well into the colonial era (active worship recorded up to 1632)

Peña de Bernal,

is a 433-metre monolith, one of the tallest in the world.

Cholula Pyramid in Puebla is the largest Pyramid in the world by volume. Turns out, its hard to photograph the largest Pyramid in the world! Most of it is still covered up and mistaking it for a natural hill, the Spanish constructed the Catholic church directly at the summit in 1594.

On to Atlixco, Puebla......town center

Popocatépetl is an active stratovolcano in central Mexico that stands at an elevation of roughly 5,426 meters (17,800 feet), making it the second-highest peak in the country.....
