The KT4 "K" style Stove-Oven_updated

T minus 3....2......1......
Blast off for the latest "rocket style" stove-oven by KT.
I don't think this actually qualifies as a Rocket stove because I don't have the burn chamber/riser insulated, but I'm calling it that anyway.

Albeit, this 4th manned mission of the KT4 "K" style stove has lived up to its expectations. Up top is a vintage stainless steel beer keg, sliced in half, its re-used 4" steel tubing, closing door ports, a stainless grid below the burn chamber (about the middle of the K) and a pull-out ash tray in the ignition port. The ignition port could be used as a second (turbo!) burning port I think with the addition of a 1/2" air shelf inserted.

In this pic I didn't have the steel grate on, but was using a custom made pot support from rebar.....
I have not yet tested this as an oven as I still need to come up with a heat diffusing plate, so as not to burn my fiddles.....😋

Here it is on first take-off. The burn port door is a must! With that door closed I get almost twice the flame as all air is then passed thru the ignition port below. You have much more temperature control with doors added.

Some construction photos....un amigo ayudando...

The ash tray below.....

and here's video action.....

Once again, I highly recommend this type of cooking device to anyone who's interested in saving firewood and/or using small sticks to with. Will keep you updated with the oven when I get a chance.
From Mission Control.....that is all.

***update***
Here is an updated pic showing the new brick insulation....works even better...
